Media Consultancy Launched by McGhee

The most recent former editor of The Herald newspaper has officially launched himself as a media consultant, offering strategic advice to media organisations and media training among his services.

Charles McGhee was editor of The Herald for three years until last year, having previously been editor - for six years - of sister title, the Evening Times. He was consultant editor for the launch of the Sunday Herald, ten years ago. In a career spanning more than 30 years, he has also held senior executive roles on the Daily Record, Sunday Mail, Scotland on Sunday and the Sunday Times. He worked for the BBC early in his career.

Charles is a past president of the UK Society of Editors and a former member of the UK's press watchdog, the Press Complaints Commission. He was recently appointed an honorary ‘ambassador’ for Business Club Scotland which aims to help Scotland’s small-and-medium-sized enterprises exploit new business opportunities through major events such as the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

He is based in Glasgow, alongside communications and management consultancy, Liddell Thomson.

He can be contacted via his website, www.mcgheemedia.com.
