A taster course on what's like to work as a journalist at BBC Scotland, and clearly aimed at young people, is being launched from early next year.
Step Up is a ten-week course, newly launched by BBC Scotland to, in its words, "give people the skills and confidence to work in news".
Successful applicants will get the chance to learn skills in either TV, radio or online and will be paired with their own BBC mentor. The scheme does not come with a guarantee of a job. It starts on January 7 and takes place every Thursday evening until March 12.
Twelve places are up for grabs and applications require to be submitted by the 19th of next month, before which there are two 'open days' at BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay HQ where more information will be available.
