Homecoming PR Strategy Subject of Clark Seminar

One of Scotland’s most influential communicators is to discuss her biggest-ever project - just hours after the curtain comes down on it.

Barbara Clark, Head of Communications at tourism authority, VisitScotland, is a key member of the team organising Homecoming, which all this year has been promoting Scotland both at home and abroad.

Coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Homecoming has comprised over 400 events throughout Scotland, with 40 more to come this weekend, during its finale.

Now Barbara is to talk about the scale of the task she and her team faced in convincing more than 500 businesses, public bodies and community groups to play a part in the celebrations.

Barbara, one of only a handful of Scots in the definitive Power Book guide to the UK’s top 100 PR 'influencers', will talk to Scottish members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Taking place a week tomorrow, in Edinburgh, the event is taking place just days after the finale.

She said: “Homecoming has been a real success story and has not only met all of its objectives, but exceeded them by quite some way.

“However, with something of this scale it didn’t always run smoothly or according to plan and I’m delighted to have this chance to share our experiences with others from the Scottish communication sector.”

Tickets cost £45+VAT for CIPR members and £55+VAT for non-CIPR members. For more information, email EloiseW@cipr.co.uk
