Lyons headed for Wall Street Journal

A BUSINESS correspondent at Scotland on Sunday – who doubles up as the paper’s award-winning wine correspondent – is to join the Europe division of The Wall Street Journal.

Will Lyons leaves for The Wall Street Journal Europe in January. He will be a reporter, based in London, with a multi-media aspect to his job.

Last year, he was named ‘Regional wine writer of the year’ at the prestigious Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards. He was a runner-up this year and in 2006 was also a runner-up in the ‘Glenfiddich wine writer of the year’. He has been at Scotland on Sunday and sister title, The Scotsman, for seven years where he has worked a number of roles including news reporter, consumer affairs correspondent and arts correspondent.

He writes a wine column for The Reader’s Digest, is wine editor for The Spectator Business and will be writing a new weekly wine column for the weekend edition of The Wall Street Journal Europe.
