Mental Health Award for STV Series

A STV drama series has picked up a prize at the Mental Health Media Awards.

Cracked, which was broadcast last year, picked up the award for Single and Serial Television Drama title at the awards. Created and written by Clare Hemphill and Kate Donnelly, it was set in a residential rehab clinic.

STV was also celebrating this week the winning of a Certificate of Merit, from this year's Maritime Media Awards - this time for a six-part documentary series, The Merchant Navy. Also broadcast last year, it had been shortlisted in the awards' Film and Documentary category.

Says Elizabeth Partyka, Channel Controller at STV: “I’m delighted that two of STV’s most popular and high quality programmes from last year have been recognised at these prestigious events. This is a testament to the talented teams of writers, cast and crew, who all helped create these fantastic shows.”
