Belated congratulations: to two writers on a forthcoming BBC Scotland drama series, who are part of the writing team to have been nominated for an Oscar.

Jess Armstrong and Simon Blackwell are part of the team - led by Scot, Armando Iannucci - up for an Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

Iannucci's political satire, In The Loop, based on his hit TV show, The Thick of It, is up against the likes of Nick Hornby for An Education and George Clooney's Up In The Air.

And for Armstrong and Blackwell - plus fellow writer, Sam Bain - a second series of their The Old Guys, for BBC Scotland, goes into production later this year, after debuting last year.
