Scotland's free weekly business newspaper is launching a daily email news service.

Business7 is to send out weekday updates to its digital subscriber list, starting on the fifth of next month.

The e-shot, which will be sent out around 1pm, is being launched to coincide with the print publication taking a summer break, starting three days before.

Business7, which has a circulation of more than 20,000, will resume printing on September 3.

Says Alasdair Northrop, editor-in-chief of Business7 and editor of sister publication, Scottish Business Insider magazine: "In common with other business to business publications the printed version of Business7 is taking a break during the holiday season.

"However, we know our readers will still want to know about what is happening in the Scottish business world.

"This is why we are launching the daily email service to those people who already subscribe to our e-zine edition.

"The stories we produce will also be uploaded to www.business7.co.uk that day so there will be a regular diet of fresh content on the site.

"If demand for the service is strong then we may look to extend it when the print edition resumes on September 3."
