A complaint made by former MSP, Tommy Sheridan, against the reporting of him by BBC Scotland was not a breach of his privacy, according to broadcasting regulators, Ofcom.

It follows the screening of a programme about him on December 23 last year, which examined the events leading up to his conviction for perjury, following an earlier, defamation case against the News of the World newspaper.

The programme included CCTV footage of Sheridan being interviewed by police. 

A similar, privacy complaint, this time by Sheridan's wife, Gail, was also not upheld by Ofcom. 

Tommy Sheridan was also complaining of unjust and unfair treatment and this, again, was not upheld by Ofcom.
