STV AGM to hears of plans to relaunch city-based websites

A RELAUNCHING of websites serving Edinburgh and Glasgow and being run by broadcasters, STV, is to take place next month.

Today, STV Group plc chief executive, Rob Woodward, will tell the annual general meeting of the company, of plans to revamp them as ‘City’ sites, but still part of the STV Local network of websites across the country. While the current Glasgow site is up and running, it has yet to be officially launched.

Woodward will also announce a further commission of the TV series, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, made by STV’s production arm for BBC Two. To be delivered later this year, the commission is for 20 programmes, double the previous run.

The company issued its annual results in February. Today, a STV statement said about its advertising revenue for the first three months of this year: “STV’s airtime in Q1 have performed slightly ahead of our February trading update, down three per cent in total. The national market was ahead of our February trading update, down six per cent, and the regional market increased by 12 per cent year on year.

“Looking ahead, we expect the television advertising market to be relatively flat in April, with STV’s total airtime revenues down five per cent. Early indications for May are for STV’s total airtime revenues to be up four per cent year on year.”
