Phone for a laugh

MEMBERS of the general public are being asked to choose the best comedy gag, from a shortlist of ten, and available for viewing on their mobile telephones.

It follows an initiative by Channel 4, which resulted in hundreds of comedy routines being submitted and performed during three public shows held in Scotland, called Gags to Go.

One gag per day during the last ten days of this month will be available for free to mobile phone users. With support from Scottish Enterprise, the gags have been produced for ‘broadcast’ by The Comedy Unit, makers of Still Game, Tank Commander and The Karen Dunbar Show.

The gags are each around one minute-long.

The writers of the four best gags, as chosen by the public and commissioning editors at Channel 4, then get to work with The Comedy Unit on project ideas.

To receive the gags, it is necessary to have a WAP-enabled phone. Then text GAGS to 83188.
