Scotsman website enjoys numbers hike from HBoS saga

THE challenges being experienced by HBoS – and its possible takeover by Lloyds TSB – have resulted in three-quarters of a million page views on a section of The Scotsman’s website dedicated to the unfolding saga.

With the coverage including video interviews with key industry figures in Edinburgh and the City of London, many HBoS staff, shareholders and customers have posted their views of the proposed takeover deal on the site’s comments threads.

Elsewhere on the website, an article about the ‘credit crunch’, by the paper’s executive editor, Bill Jamieson – entitled, ‘How the Masters of the Universe Ran Amok and Cost us the Earth’ – received more than 420,000 page views alone.
