Newsflash Creditors Invited to Make Claim

20/03/2008
Creditors of a press agency that has been closed down have until next week to lodge their claims.

According to a classified announcement in yesterday's Herald newspaper, anyone seeking to make a claim against Newsflash need to do so soon.

Speaking to allmediascotland in January, at the time of the closure, owner, Frank Gilbride, said:  “This [closure] is due to market conditions over the last couple of years, with little prospect of matters improving sufficiently to make the company a viable proposition on an on-going basis."

Says yesterday's announcement: "Notice is hereby given that on 13th March 2008, a Petition was presented to the Sheriff at Stirling by Newsflash Press and Picture Agency Limited having their registered office at 6 Pendreich Road, Bridge of Allan, Stirling FK9 4LY (‘the Company’) craving the Court inter alia, that the Company be wound-up by the Court and that an interim liquidator be appointed, in which petition the Sheriff at Stirling by Interlocutor dated 13th March 2008 appointed all persons having an interest to lodge answers in the hands of the Sheriff Clerk, Stirling, within eight days after intimation, advertisement or service and eo die appointed Matthew Henderson, Accountant, 10 Melville Street, Edinburgh EH3 7LU to be provisional liquidator of the Company with the powers specified in Parts II and III of Schedule 4 of the Insolvency Act 1986, of all of which notice is hereby given. Kerr Stirling LLP, Solicitors, 10 Albert Place, Stirling FK8 2QL, Agents for the Petitioners."
