Clyde and Forth to Launch Cash Promotion
14/04/2008
Glasgow and Edinburgh-based radio stations, Clyde 1 and Forth One, have launched a promotion to have listeners stay tuned in for longer: by promising there’s a chance to win a £1000 in a forthcoming programme.
Starting next Monday, listeners will be invited to phone in the moment they hear a particular tune, played later in the day. And for ten weeks, a £1000 prize will be on offer every day.
The promotion is being backed by outdoor advertising - for instance, on the side of buses - that play on the word, ‘money’, while referencing some contemporary musicians. For instance, the Cashier Chiefs, for the Kaiser Chiefs.
Also involved are various radio stations in the north of England - such as City, in Liverpool - which, like Clyde and Forth are owned by Bauer, which is pouring one million pounds into the initiative.
