Broadcasting commission expected to be announced by Salmond

FIRST Minister, Alex Salmond, is expected to today announce plans for a commission to look into the future of Scottish broadcasting.

He is speaking at the National Museum of Scotland, in Edinburgh, at lunchtime.

And the ‘talk of the steamie’ as to who might chair the commission is… the former head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland, Blair Jenkins.

Meanwhile, allmediascotland.com tomorrow publishes part six of its weekly series, ‘Why Scottish broadcasting matters’, in association with the Saltire Society.

p.s. If you’re quick, tune into a debate on the subject, on BBC Radio Scotland, between 8.50am and 9.30am.
