New journalism prize celebrates Europe

A NEW journalism prize has been launched, to recognise journalists who have “dealt with major issues at a European level or have promoted a better understanding of the EU institutions and/or EU policies”.

Set up by the European Parliament, the prize comprises four categories, each carrying a €5,000 winner’s cheque. The categories are print journalism, radio, TV and the internet.

The closing date for entries is May 15, with the winners announced in October.
