STV to revisit story of 12 years ago

STV is to revisit a story it reported 12 years ago, with a documentary to be screened on Thursday.

‘Hopes and Dreams – Blind School Revisited’ sees STV cameras catching up with six visually-impaired Scots who, 12 years ago, attended The Royal Blind School in Edinburgh.

Back then, the participants, then aged between 11 and 17, spoke freely and openly about their hopes for the future. The documentary provides an insight to what extent these dreams were since fulfilled.

It is being screened at 9pm.

Says Elizabeth Partyka, deputy head of content at STV: “I’m delighted that we could revisit the children from the Royal Blind School and tell their life stories in this truly inspiring documentary.

“Whether viewers watched the original interviews or not, I think they will really enjoy this warm and fascinating look at the lives of these exceptional individuals, and catch up with where they are today.”
