Martin joins Wall Street Journal

A FORMER editor of The Scotsman and sister title, Scotland on Sunday, has been appointed deputy editor of the Wall Street Journal (Europe).

Reporting to editor-in-chief, Patience Wheatcroft, Iain Martin will be based in London and, among things, will write a weekly European political analysis column

He recently left the Telegraph, where he was head of comment and community, a post he had taken on in April.

He had left SoS three years ago, to become assistant editor across the Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph.

He was later deputy editor of the Sunday Telegraph and group executive editor of politics across both titles. Wheatcroft is a former Sunday Telegraph editor.

Editor of the WSJ Europe-online is former Edinburgh Napier University graduate, Neil McIntosh.
