With summer in full swing and a busy agenda ahead, don’t miss out on the biggest and best events for both young and old

  • Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique (Cannes): From 4 July to 24 August, this international pyrotechnic competition will blow its viewers away with a visual and musical spectacle.
  • Calvi on the Rocks (Corsica): From 5 to 10 July, this annual electronic music festival held on the bay of Calvi will host its acts in an idyllic setting.
  • Festival de Beaune (Burgundy): From 5 to 28 July, this international festival of baroque opera will host 9 concerts based on Vivaldi, Monterverdi, Haendel and Bach’s music.
  • Nice Jazz Festival (Riviera): From 8 to 12 July, held in an open-air theatre at a few steps from the sea, this jazz festival will welcome famous artists: Maceo Parker and Earth, Wind & Fire just to name a few.
  • Radio France and Montpellier Festival (Languedoc-Roussillon): From 11 to 25 July, this summer festival will focus on classical and jazz music with about 200 events, most of which are free.
  • Musilac (Savoie Mont Blanc): From 12 to 14 July between the Lac du Bourget and the mountains, this festival will host concerts of various musical styles from electronic to reggae.
  • Cahors Blues Festival (Midi-Pyrénées): From 14 to 20 July, this festival which has hosted Ray Charles, James Brown and the Blues Brothers, will host the most famous names in blues music.
  • Paris Plages: From 20 July to 18 August, the banks of the Seine in Paris will be covered by white sand, deckchairs, and beach volley players with various events and concerts.
  • Fetes de Bayonne (Aquitaine): From 24 to 28 July, this festival will host parades, corridas, pelotas tournaments with the traditional colours of red and white as standard attire.
  • Midi Festival (Hyères): From 26 to 28 July, the city of Hyères in Provence will host musicians from around the world in various unusual settings: the Villa Noailles, the Almanarre beach and the racecourse.
