GLASGOW Clyde College principal, Susan Walsh, has been appointed OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Ms Walsh was appointed principal of Glasgow Clyde College in 2013. The college was formed following the merger of Anniesland, Cardonald and Langside Colleges.

She was previously principal of Cardonald College Glasgow (2008 – 2013) and Stevenson College Edinburgh (2002 – 2008).

Ms Walsh said: “I was surprised but delighted to be given such a prestigious award. I see it more as encouragement for the future for Glasgow Clyde College as recognition of past achievements and to whomsoever did nominate me, thank you.”

Susan is currently a member of several boards of management, including the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Glasgow Clyde College.
