A LEADING Aberdeen-based commercial flooring business has made a key management appointment as part of extensive growth plans.
General & Technical Flooring services, which is based in Bucksburn, specialises in the supply, removal, repair and installation of flooring for commercial properties, has appointed John Morrison as managing director, to coincide with the company’s plans to substantially increase its turnover over the next 12 months.
Mr Morrison, who has 20 years experience in the commercial flooring industry, started his career as a trainee flooring estimator, and has developed his practical skills and experience through business development and general management roles throughout his career.
Since joining the specialist flooring firm, which was established in 1994, Mr Morrison has been instrumental in already growing business by 30 per cent, resulting in staff numbers increasing from 12 to 19 to meet increasing demand from clients.
Mr Morrison said: “General & Technical has enjoyed significant growth since I have joined the company, and we forecast that revenues will double over the next year. We will continue to expand the business, by further engaging with key sectors such as education, hotels and leisure and the manufacturing industry, ensuring that we maintain the excellent reputation of the company throughout the North-east.
“It is essential for companies to meet health and safety requirements, and putting in the correct flooring is vital in terms of providing the best working environment for a workforce but also to enhance or maintain a property’s value.
“We are focused on delivering major projects for commercial flooring and our recent new projects represent a new chapter for the business”.
