Global Audience Hope for Scots Animation Company

A series of animations produced by a Scottish company look set to enjoy a more global audience following a tie-up with a Spanish distribution company.
At the world’s biggest TV entertainment selling and buying convention – MIPCOM, taking place in Cannes, France, next month – Edinburgh-based Red Kite and BRB Internacional will together launch THE IMP to possible buyers.
They will be also attending MIPCOM’s children’s and youth programmes equivalent, MIPCOM JR, which takes place a couple of days before.
THE IMP is an animated character that tries to be evil but has a surprising knack of botching it and finding it hard to juggle being evil with domestic chores.
Already an award winner as an animation available via mobile phone, there are to be 65, 90-second episodes of The IMP available. Cartoon Network USA and Disney Japan have already signed up to buy.
Its creator is Andy Fielding.
Red Kite was established in 1997 by director, Rachel Bevan Baker, and producer, Ken Anderson.
