Documentary film competition issues call for entries

ARGUABLY the most prestigious documentary film competition in the UK has issed a call for entries.

This is the 40th anniversary of The Griersons – The British Documentary Awards (named after the Scot commonly referred to as the ‘father’ of documentary filmmaking, John Grierson) with the winning entry to be broadcast on Sky Arts HD television channel.

Say the organisers: “The Griersons are the only awards dedicated to the celebration of documentary film making in all its forms. They recognise outstanding films that demonstrate integrity, originality and technical excellence, and social or cultural significance.”
