Eight-hour ‘comedy marathon’ to be broadcast by the BBC

A MARATHON comedy performance from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is to be broadcast by the BBC.

Lasting eight hours, the show – from 9pm on Friday until 5am the following day – is to feature over 40 acts.

The BBC Three Comedy Marathon is being shown on the ‘Red Button’.

From the show, two, 30-minute programmes will be made for BBC Scotland, to be broadcast later this month.

There will be also a 30-minute programme made for BBC Northern Ireland and, for BBC Three, an one-hour show and four, 30-minute ones.

Says the BBC: “Standby [free] tickets for all events at the BBC Fringe venue, with availability, will be released daily at 11am from the BBC Information Point at the site entrance on the corner [in Edinburgh] of Potterrow and Marshall Street.”
