Scots viewers reportedly to miss Rod Stewart Christmas TV show

UPDATE since this story first ran this morning: A STV spokesperson says the station plans to screen the show, sometime over the festive period; just not next weekend, when Channel 3 viewers outside of STV will get to watch it. The original story read:

A CHRISTMAS TV show being hosted by singer, Rod Stewart, and filmed at Stirling Castle is reportedly going to be broadcast across the UK, except in Scotland by STV.

Reports Marc Deanie and Matt Bendoris in The Scottish Sun today, STV viewers are instead to have a sports awards show. They quote ‘an insider’ saying: “It’s ridiculous”. The heading to the front page splash is ‘Rod’s STV blackout’.

But while the ‘star-studded show’ won’t be showing a week tomorrow, it might get an airing on Hogmanay.

PS The sports awards show doesn’t get named in the article: it’s the Sunday Mail Scottish Sports Awards 2012.
