Mair and Campbell named among Sony nominees

SCOTS, Eddie Mair and Nicky Campbell, are again among the nominees in the UK’s most prestigious radio competition, the Sony Radio Academy Awards.

The pair – both previous Sony winners – are this year pitted together in the Broadcaster of the Year category, Mair for his work on BBC Radio 4 and Campbell with BBC Radio 5 live.

Also named in the awards shortlist are BBC Radio Scotland – in the Best Drama category – and Real Radio Scotland – in the Best Competition one.

Meanwhile, football pundit, Andy Gray, gets a nod in the Best Sports Programme category, while BBC Radio 2’s Ken Bruce is shortlisted in Music Radio Personality of the Year one.

The awards ceremony is taking place on the 13th of next month.
