Week of live programmes being staged to celebrate radio partnership with Scots orchestra

A WEEK-long schedule of live programmes is to be broadcast next week, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of a partnership between the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Classic FM radio station.

Starting Sunday, the schedule will be – says Classic FM owners, Global – “the first time that Classic FM has broadcast a week of live programming from Scotland, as the station brings a different show from a different city each day”.

Adds Global, in a media release: “Every week, more people hear the RSNO on Classic FM than via any other broadcaster, and the ensemble is one of the station’s seven partner orchestras.”

It continues: “The live broadcasts from Scotland will commence on Sunday 13th October at 6am, when Anne Marie-Minhall will present Classic FM’s More Music Breakfast from Inverness. The following day, Tim Lihoreau will host his More Music Breakfast from Aberdeen, followed on Tuesday 15th by Jamie Crick who’ll present his afternoon show from Perth. John’s Suchet will host the station’s flagship morning programme from Dundee on Wednesday 16th, while Classic FM Drive, hosted by John Brunning, will come live from Edinburgh on Thursday 17th October.

“In addition, on Friday 18th in The Full Works Concert with Jane Jones, Classic FM will broadcast an exclusive concert performed by the RSNO, to be recorded at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 12th October.”

PS An earlier version of this story suggested that there would be a week-long programme of live concerts, performed by the RSNO. It was a mis-reading of a media release. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
