BAFTA Scotland issues call for entries to new talent competition

A COMPETITION recognising the best of young broadcasting talent in Scotland has issued a call for entries.

The Scots division of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced it is looking for entries for its New Talent Awards.

Says a BAFTA Scotland media release: “Students and emerging professionals in the moving image industry are invited to submit films, documentaries, animation, original music, entertainment programmes and games works for consideration.”

Entries are required – via http://entry.bafta.org – by the 13th of next month.

The release quotes BAFTA Scotland director, Jude MacLaverty, as saying: “BAFTA Scotland is dedicated to nurturing the incredible amount of emerging talent here in Scotland and we are very excited to be launching the New Talent Awards. This year, we have added a new category, Production Designer, which along with Sound Design and Entertainment introduced for our 2013 awards, now takes categories in competition to 12.”

The categories are Acting Performance, Animation, Comedy/Entertainment, Director of Photography, Editor, Factual, Fiction, Game, Original Music, Production Design, Sound Design, and Writer.
