Campaigning journalism competition calls for entries

A COMPETITION recognising the best of campaigning journalism has put out a call for entries.

This is the fifth year of the Paul Foot Award, set up in memory of the left-wing campaigner and investigative journalist, Paul Foot, who died five years ago.

The competition is run jointly by Private Eye magazine and The Guardian newspaper.

Foot worked for the Daily Record and the Daily Mirror, as well as Private Eye, and was involved in campaigns such as the Birmingham Six and Bridgewater Four – winning various awards for his work.
