P&J triumphs at regional press awards

THE Aberdeen daily newspaper, The Press and Journal, has emerged triumphant at awards celebrating the best of regional newspapers.

In the category for newspapers with a circulation above 40,000, the DC Thomson-owned title has been made ‘Newspaper of the year’, ahead of Belfast’s Sunday Life, which was highly-commended.

In the ‘Newspaper of the year’ category for newspapers with a circulation below 40,000, the prize went to Carlisle’s News & Star.

Meanwhile, The Herald’s Alison Campsie took the ‘Children’s Society Award for reporting on asylum and refugee issues’, with ‘All I want to do is help people’.
