THE prospects for Scotland’s new online ‘newspaper’, Caledonian Mercury – launched yesterday – were the subject of extensive debate on last night’s Newsnight Scotland, on BBC Scotland.
Indeed, the whole of the 20-minute programme was devoted to Caledonian Mercury and also how the traditional newspaper industry might adapt to the rise of the internet.
Among the guests was allmediascotland blogger, Professor Brian McNair, plus, of course, Stewart Kirkpatrick, editor of Caledonian Mercury – who happens to be also an allmediascotland blogger.
Perhaps that’s why the allmediascotland logo appeared in the montage of mastheads appearing in the background to the debate.
Columnist, Gerry Hassan, joined McNair in the programme’s Glasgow studio.
