Media job: Editor, This England and Evergreen

WE are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead the team producing This England and Evergreen, two successful and well-established magazine brands.

Reporting to the editorial director, the successful candidate will devise strategies to grow the two brands through innovation, improvement and development in print, online and through brand extensions.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Building the profile of This England to place it at the heart of England’s cultural life;
  • Strengthening the identity of Evergreen and raising its profile;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to grow both brands across multiple platforms; and
  • Inspiring team members to produce content of the highest quality and relevance.

In this role, you will be required to generate, capture and communicate creative ideas which build on brand values and embrace modern England. You will be committed to producing magazines that celebrate all that is best about England, building on both titles’ heritage and reputation while also relishing the chance to engage a contemporary audience.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a high profile media role and experience of both print and online strategic development. You will have excellent management skills. Good connections in English creative and cultural circles will be an advantage. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. You should have an awareness of copyright laws and codes of practice.

You will understand the rich blend of cultural experiences England’s wild places and urban spaces have to offer and have a passion for communicating this to the titles’ audiences.
