Media job: Trainee multimedia reporter, Evening Telegraph

CLOSING DATE: May 13, 2019

Dundee

VAC700

THE Evening Telegraph is one of the nation’s most successful evening titles – and Dundee is one of the nation’s coolest cities (just ask GQ, the Wall Street Journal, NME, Vogue, Lonely Planet, Bloomberg, Conde Nast Traveller, National Geographic and the Los Angeles Times….).

The accolades have been pouring in for the city of late, which makes it a pretty exciting place to be right now, not that it is perfect, far from it.

We are now looking for an ambitious trainee reporter determined to tell it like it is – good, bad or downright ugly. Our team is packed with talent – and you will be an integral part of it from day one.

We don’t want you to be chained to your desk, you will be out and about bringing you stories to life. Oh, and if you like the sound of your own voice so much the better as we also have a radio station (Wave FM) and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate, with genuine career prospects.

Requirements include:

* Shorthand at 100 wpm (or at least a commitment to achieve the standard in the near future);

* Excellent attention to detail;

* Superb communication skills;

* An ability to work creatively to tight deadlines; and

* A strong team ethos.

To apply for this role, please follow our online application process and submit a CV and cover letter.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week from our Meadowside office. We offer a generous package including 34 days holiday, health cash plan, on-site staff gym, excellent pension, a competitive salary, and many more staff discounts and benefits.
