THE post holder will be the communications professional lead for the organisation on marketing, campaigns and digital engagement; leading a number of teams managing various communications disciplines to support the policing purpose of Keeping People Safe.

The post holder will hold a degree or equivalent in marketing, media or related communication discipline. They will have proven experience at a senior management level in this field and will have evidence of leading and managing a team. They will be able to devise and develop marketing campaigns, initiatives and communications strategies to meet and support the organisational goals and the business plan. They will demonstrate an understanding of personnel practice and devolved budget management.

They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess a high level of self-motivation and be able to work on their own initiative. They will be an effective autonomous decision maker and have excellent project management skills. They will have excellent awareness of the marketing and digital disciplines and be aware of emerging trends and opportunities.

The role is a senior position within Corporate Communications which will lead a number of teams to deliver the corporate objectives. It is a senior management role both for staff and service outputs and will play a significant role in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships.
