GIB has now moved through its start-up phase. Through that period the communications objective was to demonstrate, to a broad range of stakeholders, that we are up, running, investing and that our business model was working. We have committed significant time and energy to building an extensive programme of stakeholder engagement, led by the chief executive. We leave the start-up phase with a high profile and high expectations.

Green Investment Bank is looking for an experienced media manager to join our Communication team in Edinburgh. The key purpose of this role is to manage GIB’s day to day corporate media relations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the media component of GIB’s transaction announcements (c. 25 per annum), manage the media components of GIB’s strategic campaigns (c. four per annum), devise and implement media strategies for GIB’s four sectors (offshore wind, waste, energy efficiency, community renewables)  and ensure GIB gets full value from its digital channels to support its media programme.

We would like to hear from candidates who have outstanding communication skills, first class writing skills and experience in generating content for media with at least five years experience of working with the media. You must be an experienced social media user, who has worked in a corporate environment including direct contact with senior executives. In addition, experience of working in the financial services, energy or environment sector or a related policy area is essential for the role.
