A LEADING Aberdeen tattoo and piercing studio has made a key appointment to add to its dynamic workforce.

Maree Fowler has joined the team at Rebel, based in the city’s George Street, as the studio’s dedicated body piercer.

Maree, 26, specialises in body piercings and has worked in studios in Inverness and Glasgow during her career.

Rebel, which is one of Aberdeen’s longest running tattoo and piercing studios, prides itself in customer service, also has four full-time tattoo artists and an apprentice tattoo artist.

Maree, originally from Inverness, has seven years of experience in the industry, has vast knowledge in all aspects of piercing and aftercare.

Studio owner, Robin Cannon, said: “We first welcomed Maree to the studio as a guest piercer, and due to high customer demand, we are delighted to welcome her to the team as a permanent member of staff. We already know the great work she does from customer feedback, and she naturally puts clients at ease thanks to her female touch, and is a talented technical piercer.

“She has innovative ideas, and has brought a number of new products to the studio including a range of high quality attachments for new piercings. Our team is diverse and dynamic, and we pride ourselves in offering customers a bespoke service that meets their needs.”

Maree said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Rebel on a full-time basis. I recognise that piercing can seem daunting and it’s really important that our customers feel comfortable when they come into the studio, and don’t feel intimidated for any reason.

“The consultation process is key to successful piercings, as customers should be talked through the procedure, and importantly, the aftercare.

“I meet new people everyday, from nurses to police men and women, all with different ideas and requests. Everyday is a challenge, and there’s nothing better than watching a satisfied client leave with a smile across their face.”

Rebel strives to offer the best quality jewellery for piercings, and has introduced a new range of body implant grade titanium products suitable for use on initial piercings. Attachments are made using a range of Swarovski Gems, Swarovski Opals and Cabachon Opals.

The Rebel body piercing walk-in service runs from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
