THE Bauer Media Group has again strengthened its UK offering to clients by appointing Graeme McKellar as head of Creative at Radio Clyde. This follows the appointment last month of John-Paul Hughes to the newly created role of group head of Creative across Bauer’s ‘City Network’.

McKellar heads up Radio Clyde’s creative team, having joined from national broadcaster STV.

Prior to this, he worked at GMG Radio (then Real & Smooth Radio Ltd) for eight years. McKellar has extensive knowledge of creative advertising, having worked on campaigns across all channels both traditional and digital.

He has worked with a huge variety of clients ranging from local businesses to national brands.

In his new role, McKellar will be responsible for ensuring the continued success of the creative team and will build on the excellent work already achieved by group head, John-Paul Hughes.

His focus will be on creating effective ideas, finessed executions, enhancing processes and practices to further develop Radio Clyde’s creative offerings to clients.

Commenting on his appointment, Graeme McKellar said: “I’m thrilled to be offered this position and to be part of such a strong team.

“My role will involve working closely with our clients to create bespoke advertising strategies specific to their individual needs. We are a one-stop-shop for our clients, working with them from day one right through to implementation, whether on radio, online, in print, or elsewhere.

“This is an exciting time to be working in the creative advertising space. The boundaries are continually being pushed and we want to help our clients navigate the new opportunities available to them.”

An English Literature graduate from the University of Glasgow, McKellar can trace his entry into advertising through his love of writing.

McKellar said: “We live in a busy world where people are bombarded with hundreds of messages every day. It’s about coming up with a creative idea that cuts through the noise and makes an impact.

“Knowing your campaign has struck a chord with the target market is truly satisfying. You’re delivering results and doing this is in a creative way.”

Announcing his appointment, John-Paul Hughes, group head of Creative, Bauer City Network, said: “This is an exciting time for the creative team here at Bauer. We are very pleased to welcome Graeme into the fold. He is an excellent addition who will further strengthen our creative and commercial offerings.

“This appointment illustrates our commitment to providing holistic cross-media creative offerings. Our aim is to produce memorable campaigns for clients across traditional radio, TV and print advertising, extending into the digital world as well as the great outdoors, with all the expertise provided under one roof.

“On behalf of the whole team here at Bauer we offer our congratulations to Graeme and look forward to his innovative input into the creative team.”
