Media Release: Great British Barber Bash to shape up industry in Aberdeen for first time

AN Aberdeen city centre hair salon is getting set to host an exclusive event showcasing two of the very best established barbers in the UK, alongside members of a leading barbering events team.

Luxury hair salon, Linton & Mac, which was launched in September 2015, will host a hot training session in association with The Great British Barber Bash team, on Sunday 10 January 2016, to showcase the work of top talent from the barbering industry.

The event, which is open to the public and trade professionals and ticket only, is in association with Linton & Mac and will be held at the salon’s premises on Netherkirkgate.

Alan Beak, one of the UK’s top barbers and owner of Manchester’s, Ruger Barber, will be leading the modern barbering workshop alongside his brother Reece Beak, also of Ruger Barber, and Great British Barber Bash host, Garry Spencer.

Organised to raise awareness of new barbering trends and to bring inspiration of the barbering trend to the North-east, the event is anticipated to sell out quickly.

Garry Spencer, founder of The Great British Barber Bash, said: “This event is one not to be missed. If you are passionate about the barbering or hairdressing industry then this is a fantastic opportunity to rub noses with and learn from some of the best barbers in the industry.

“This is the first time we have ever hosted an event in Aberdeen and we are looking forward to utilising the quirky Linton & Mac salon in showcasing these brilliant talents. The barbering trend has taken the UK by storm and we want to show the people of Aberdeen what its all about.”

Creative director of Linton & Mac, Joanna MacDonald, commented: “We are delighted to be hosting the very first Barber Bash workshop in Aberdeen and are extremely excited to see what skills and techniques the guys will be showcasing to guests and participants.

Linton & Mac, which has a created over 14 new jobs in the city, prides itself on employee development, and education is a key focus at the salon to provide up-to-date industry knowledge to clients.
