THERE’S just one month left to enter Scotland’s Dementia Awards 2016.

Scotland’s Dementia Awards celebrate creative approaches, innovation and best practice in all aspects of information, advice, care and support for people with dementia, their carers, partners and families.

If you work within the health, social care, independent or voluntary sectors in the support of people living with dementia, or if you are involved in education or training relating to this, then we want to hear from you! Share your projects with us today.

Scotland’s Dementia Awards have six categories: Most Innovative Partnership, Best Dementia Friendly Community Initiative, Best Community Support Initiative, Best Innovation in Continuing Care, Best Acute Care Initiative and Best Educational Initiative.

Notes for editors:

There are 90,000 people in Scotland with some form of dementia. The most common form of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease, followed by vascular dementia.

  • The number of people in Scotland with dementia is set to double within a generation. As yet, there is no cure.
