PublicRelationsToUse

FIVE new jobs have been created thanks to the establishment of a new business in Caithness and Sutherland’s energy sector.

Envision Engineering & Design Ltd (Envision) has been set up by directors, Liam Sutherland and Stuart Anderson, both of whom are originally from Caithness.

The new company delivers full design engineering solutions using the latest 3D AutoCAD software to a range of clients in the nuclear, renewable energy and oil and gas sectors.

Services include, among others, the design of pipework, steelwork, hydraulic and ventilation systems.

Envision has been assisted with an investment of £25,000 from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) towards initial start-up costs.

Liam Sutherland said: “Our team has over 80 years of combined experience in delivering high quality engineering design for different businesses.

“Working directly with fabrication companies, we pride ourselves that our solutions are designed to be easily manufactured and tested through rigorous engineering assessments.

“We look forward to developing positive working relationships with clients but also aim to develop markets further afield in the rest of the UK and we hope to create another three posts within three years.”

HIE’s assistance helps businesses like Envision realise their growth ambitions while enabling the north energy sector to develop an increasingly skilled and diverse supply chain. This helps make Caithness and Sutherland an attractive proposition for future investment.

Claire Farquhar, account manager for HIE, said: “Envision’s strong focus on innovation and the clever use of the latest technology plays a vital part in providing high quality services to key markets such as marine renewables, oil and gas and nuclear, all of which, have the potential to deliver significant economic benefits to the area.

“Along with our partners in the Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership, HIE has identified the energy sector as a key area of growth for the local economy and we are keen to support this good example of local people taking advantage of these opportunities.”
