AN Aberdeen-based reservoir engineering consultancy is inviting the French business community to attend a Brexit-focused business meeting with a French senator.

Laurent Schirrer, managing director of Oilgen, which provides technical and business management services, will welcome French senator, Olivier Cadic, to speak to a select group at its offices in Aberdeen this week.

M Cadic, a French senator representing overseas nationals, will discuss the potential consequences of Brexit with local businesses.

The event will take place on Wednesday 7 September, at 4.30-6pm, at Oilgen’s offices at Centurion Court, North Esplanade West, Aberdeen.

M Schirrer, who has lived and worked in Aberdeen for 20 years is hosting the event with Professor David Lusseau, the elected French consular advisor for Scotland and lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.

Oilgen specialises in providing high-tech reservoir engineering expertise to forecast and improve oil and gas production, across the world – including France and the US.

Oilgen is inviting the French business community to the event, as well as business managers with an interest in trading with France, with a view to working together to protect the interests of EU business people in the area.

M Cadic said: “I am looking forward to meeting businesses in Aberdeen to talk about the Brexit.

“Since the referendum, even the most optimistic of French people living and working in the UK will be a little concerned. It is important that we come together for a positive future.”

M Schirrer added: “We believe it is important for the French business community to work together to maintain the excellent trading relationship between France and Scotland. I look forward to welcoming M Cadic in Aberdeen.”

Those wishing to attend this exclusive event should contact Laurent Schirrer, Oilgen on 01224 327047 (info@oilgen.com) or David Lusseau on 01224 272843.”

M Cadic is also speaking at a public event at the University of Aberdeen from 6pm.
