bunting-1221851

EYEMOUTH’S first ever Wellbeing Week is being held this autumn from Tuesday 27 September to Saturday 1 October.

The 5 Days to Wellbeing programme will offer an exciting range of activities and they are all free.

There should be something for everyone to enjoy such as a scavenger hunt, CPR training, discovering your skills and telling your story sessions, beach art, local volunteering opportunities, a Happiness Habits café, a number of local walks, a ‘Ready-Steady-Cook’ demonstration, a complementary therapy demonstration, an introduction to mindfulness, a walking football match, music from local musician, Andrew Valentine and so much more!

To take part, find out more, sign up (some activities have limited places) meet the friendly team at Splash at the Chill Space on Harbour Road and at the Co-op on Tuesday 27 September from 10am until 3pm.

Wellbeing Week evolved from discussion at one of the Borders Navigator Advisory Group meetings and is an excellent example of collaborative working.

Research has shown that getting involved in activities; including volunteering, being active and learning; can have a positive effect on wellbeing.

Those involved in the planning and delivery are Connect (Berwickshire Youth Project), local volunteers, Health in Mind – Borders Navigator service, Berwickshire Housing Association, Volunteer Centre Borders, NHS Borders Healthy Living Network, Eyemouth Community Development Trust (Splash Project), Reset Wellness Centre, Scottish Borders Council-Community Learning and Development, Local Area Co-ordination and Building Community Capacity teams, Live Borders, Abundant Borders, Flourishing Borders, Eyemouth Men’s Shed, Waymarks Consultancy, the Fire Service and local musician Andrew Valentine
