Media Release: Strathclyde MLitt Digital Journalism students launch multimedia magazine

Strathclyde

UNIVERSITY of Strathclyde’s MLitt Digital Journalism students are excited to announce the launch of The New Normal, a life and culture magazine for up-and-coming professionals with an interest in social consciousness.

The New Normal will offer advice and information on how to launch and manage a successful enterprise, news on relevant movements in the business world, deep-dives into the lives of those inspiring change through their businesses and social enterprises, as well as articles focused on lifestyle and culture, designed to help readers achieve a better balance between work and play.

The launch event will take place on Friday, 17 February, at the University of Strathclyde, where students will present The New Normal to industry professionals and academics.

Previous students have won the prestigious Multimedia Publication of the Year award at the Scottish Student Journalism Awards as well as a number of individual prizes, and this year’s students hope to replicate that success with The New Normal.

Dr Petya Eckler, the class instructor, said: “This year’s group of digital journalism students is very diverse and accomplished, which will be reflected in their online publication.

“The publication is forward-looking, socially-conscious and dynamic and is sure to catch the attention of the young professional audience in Scotland who is curious about stories on responsible entrepreneurship, but also culture, lifestyle and current events.”

The event, among many other exciting pieces, will be covered in The New Normal Magazine.
