Twelve year-old Holly McWilliam, from Keith, took gold in the Grampian Boccia Games held at the Aberdeen Sports Village last weekend.

Her opponent in the final was none other than fellow Milne’s Disability Sports Club member, Daniel Strong, 11, from Elgin, who had to settle for silver.

It was re-run of the final two years ago in which Holly also defeated Daniel.

Boccia is an all-inclusive sport which is similar to bowls and forms part of the club’s weekly sessions which take place at Milne’s High School in Fochabers on Monday from 5.30pm to 7pm.

The sessions, which are open to primary and secondary pupils, also include other sports such as tennis, basketball, athletics and golf.

The club currently has spaces available and school age youngsters who are interested are welcome to come along and check it out.
