A NEW drop-in and appointment centre for disabled people seeking advice, support or to control their own social care services will open at The Hub in Dumfries this Friday (September 1).

Colin Millar, chief executive of The Scottish Personal Assistant Employers Network, said: “The opening of the new independent information and advice service in Dumfries is an important milestone gor SPAEN.

“The opening of iConnect Dumfries is an exciting opportunity for us to deliver first class support, services, information and advice to the people of Dumfries and Galloway and really push self-directed support as a plausible way of changing peoples’ life outcomes.”

The Hub is located at 24-26 Friars Vennel, DG1 2RL.

Initially, the service will open two days a week and opening hours can be viewed at www.facebook.com/ScotPAEN, on Twitter at: @spaentweets or via Dumfries & Galloway Social Care headquarters in Irish Street.
