A NEW, glossy print magazine dedicated to natural health and beauty, as well as wellbeing and lifestyle, is set to launch in Scotland in March.

Holistic Scotland Magazine, which will also cover lifestyle and travel, is being developed by independent publisher, Lynda Hamilton Parker, who previously worked on My Weekly magazine at DC Thomson.

Although Parker has enjoyed a successful freelance career since 2011, this will be her first print project in more than six years.

An award-winning journalist and PR consultant, Parker also previously worked for The BIG Partnership’s then publications division – heading up a number of titles on behalf of BT in Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Scottish Prison Service, and ExxonMobil.

More recently, she set up Scotland B2B, an online title for Scottish SMEs which Parker is set to wind up to focus on her new venture.

She has, until recently, also worked as a freelance PR consultant – helping start-ups and SMEs gain media traction and delivering regular talks and seminars on understanding the press and marketing messaging.

Parker was the managing editor of ‘The Business Journal’ and has since has delivered PR and publishing services across a range of B2B sectors, including recruitment, finance and travel.

Having previously written extensively on health and wellbeing travel and complementary therapies for a number of titles such as Positive Health, Yoga & Health Magazine, and My Weekly, Parker is now set to refocus on her passion for consumer media with the launch of Scotland’s first dedicated natural health magazine.

The new, 84-page glossy will be distributed via selected spas, therapists, practitioners and holistic centres, as well as a monthly subscription service, with the first (April) issue due out mid to late March.
