Media release: Businessman’s Easter treat for under-privileged families

Vincent Moore

A GLASGOW businessman has dipped into his own pocket to ensure that under-privileged children will enjoy their Easter school break.

Vincent Moore, chair of the Simple Digital Solutions, has pledged £1,000 to Thriving Survivors, a registered charity which provides support to victims of trauma, to stage a Thriving Families event over the Easter school holidays.

His generosity will ensure that the children will enjoy a cinema visit, a visit to Hamilton Academicals ground; a tour of police, fire and ambulance services, lunches, trips and party games throughout the week.

The family week is the initiative of Ashley Scotland, chief executive of Thriving Survivors.

She said she was aware that many families with children struggled during school holidays to feed and entertain their children and that the Thriving Families venture was a logical extension of work that the charity was doing to help those struggling to cope with their issues. “As a parent I know how challenging it can be and Mr Moore’s generosity is going to mean a lot to the parents and the children, especially at Easter time.”

Vincent Moore said he was delighted to be able to help such an enterprising project, adding “the real credit is due to Thriving Survivors. Their initiative has come from the knowledge they have gleaned from victims of trauma that they have already helped and in so doing become aware of the need to offer those families more support at Easter. I am only too happy to be able to help”.
