Media release: AVC Immedia produces promotional video series for VisitAberdeenshire

ABERDEEN-based AVC Immedia has created a series of promotional videos for VisitAberdeenshire to encourage tourists both in the UK and overseas to holiday in North East Scotland.

The Destination Strategy, launched by VisitAberdeenshire in March this year, revealed Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire’s competitive strengths.

Food and drink, such as fresh seafood and locally-produced whisky ranked highly – as does culture, heritage and events – while the natural landscape and opportunities to take a road trip to explore the outdoors remain a visitor favourite. The final strength highlighted by the strategy is the choice of stunning golf courses.

AVC has worked with VisitAberdeenshire to take these destination strengths as the inspiration for a series of five videos showcasing the region. Using its experience of the area and technology such as sophisticated 4k camera drones, AVC has filmed at venues, events and across the local landscape.

The video content is being distributed via VisitAberdeenshire’s website and social media channels including specific targeting of local language versions created by AVC Immedia to reach potential German visitors, an important audience given the region’s popularity with that market.

Nikki Morris-Laing, head of marketing at VisitAberdeenshire, says: “Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are visited by 1.3 million tourists contributing £640 million to the visitor economy. Our aim is to increase that tourism spend to £1 billion per annum by 2023. AVC took our brief and created a series of videos which capture the range of experiences and attractions that we have to offer, and the videos now feature in a range of marketing campaigns.”

AVC Immedia’s general manager, Keith Robertson, comments: “The Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire region has so much to offer. We are delighted to have been able to communicate the diversity of our beautiful region for VisitAberdeenshire. Video plays a vital role in showcasing the incredible locations, attractions and activities available to everyone. The team has already started creating content for the next campaign which captures the area across the four seasons of the year.”
