Media release: Entries open for annual Refugee Festival Scotland Media Awards

PublicRelationsToUse

THE annual Refugee Festival Scotland Media Awards are now accepting entries.

Aimed at promoting good journalism, the awards celebrate coverage that is fair and responsible, and that contribute to improved understanding of the issues surrounding forced migration in Scotland.

The awards are co-ordinated by the Scottish Refugee Council, in partnership with the National Union of Journalists and the British Red Cross.

Journalists can enter their own work or nominate the work of colleagues by submitting a piece for consideration. Members of the public are also encouraged to nominate work they consider to be outstanding. The deadline is 5pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

Journalists can enter one piece of work per category, and submitting different entries for different categories is permissible. All entries must have been published or broadcast between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019.
