THE BBC Scotland channel is the destination to relive the best music moments from the TRNSMT festival, with a special ‘takeover’ evening, celebrating some of the biggest and best performances from the festival’s three-year history, presented by Edith Bowman on Saturday 11 July.

With the festival cancelled this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, presenter, Edith Bowman – who has covered all three years of BBC Scotland’s TRNSMT coverage – will introduce three hour-long highlights packages between 9.00pm-midnight on the weekend the 2020 event should have taken place on Glasgow Green.

BBC Scotland’s TRNSMT Takeover will give music fans the chance to enjoy some of TRNSMT’s most iconic moments, including Biffy Clyro, Lewis Capaldi and Radiohead. A
must for music fans, these will look back at key moments from the festival’s debut in 2017 as well as 2018 and 2019, with Edith introducing the highlights in special pre-recorded links from her back garden.

Edith says: “TRNSMT is one of the highlights of my year and I’m looking forward to reliving some of the many music moments from the last three years on the BBC Scotland channel. Like so many other festival goers, I’m going to miss being in Glasgow Green for this year’s TRNSMT but this TV takeover is the next best thing.

“TRNSMT always has a great atmosphere – there’s something really unique about a city
festival. So no matter where you are in the country, sit down, tune in and enjoy the TRNSMT takeover with me.”

Gareth Hydes, commissioning editor, Radio and Events, BBC Scotland, said: “While we can’t
enjoy the fantastic live music of the TRNSMT Festival this year, we hope to bring you the next best thing on BBC Scotland. For one night only, we’re handing over our airwaves to the great music and stellar acts from the last three festivals. We’re delighted that Edith Bowman will be able to join us once again this year as she guides us through this evening of highlights. It will be a night of brilliant music to brighten up your summer – whatever the weather!”
