Media release: Cammach turnover increases by 56 per cent

LEADING Aberdeen-based oil and gas engineering services company, Cammach Group, has reported a sharp increase in turnover in the past year.

The 13 year-old firm has just announced that turnover has leapt by 56 per cent or £2.7 million to just over £7.5 million. Due to significant growth, 15 additional members of staff have been added to the payroll.

The figure includes a marked increase for Cammach Recruitment which more than doubled its 2009 turnover to £2.5 million.

Scottish Enterprise funding has helped enable the realisation of various projects within the group, such as the recruitment of a business support manager and web development.

From its worldwide headquarters at Cammach Business Centre, East Tullos, Aberdeen, the multi-faceted Cammach Group has been servicing the oil and gas industry for more than a decade and currently supports operations in the UK, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Europe, UAE and West Africa.

Services range from general maintenance repairs to full, multi-discipline turnkey packages including field survey, design, build, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Key to the success of the company since it was founded in 1997 has been practical experience and capability in refrigeration and HVAC, coupled with the ability to work closely with the clients to meet demanding objectives and deadlines.

Cammach Recruitment operates independently and specialises in the recruitment of engineering personnel for onshore, offshore and overseas positions.

The company recruits in various disciplines including project and contract managers, engineers, and technicians and has a particularly strong record in placing business development personnel in the energy sector.

Commenting on the figures, Cammach Group managing director, Bill Barclay, said: “Across the Group all divisions are performing well and I am particularly pleased that our recruitment team enjoyed significant growth and drove turnover up by £1.6 million.

“The fact this was achieved at a time when the jobs market was suffering as the economy climbs out of recession is all the more remarkable.”
